Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan international referee Cláudio Eiuba judged the first match of the Basketball African Championship (BAL) on Sunday (8) night, which is taking place in Pretoria, South Africa.

After being the video referee in the game between Al Ahly Tripoli (Libya) and Al Ittihad of Alexandria (Egypt) on Friday (6), the professional from the province of Huambo refereed the match in which the Egyptian team beat FUS Rabat of Morocco, 86-83, and qualified for the semi-finals.

The match, which took place at the SunBet Arena, was tied at 74 points at regular time.

Al Ittihad will therefore play in the semi-finals against the winner of the match between Petro de Luanda and Monastir from Tunisia, which takes place on Monday (9), at 6 pm.

With a defeat in group B, the Angolan team will have to win to remain in the competition and to achieve the goal of retaining the title won last year.
