Africa-Press – Angola. From this Sunday (26th), the province of Benguela will host the second National Conference on the Training of Police Women in Angola.
According to a press release from the Angola Police Woman Network/Rempa, the event will take place at the “Santa André Pitra – Petrof” Police Academy, in the fishing town of Baía Farta.
The opening ceremony will take place in the city of Benguela and will be presided over by the general commander of the PN, general commissioner Arnaldo Manuel Carlos.
The document states that the event will last five days, in which various topics will be addressed, with emphasis on the Strategic Plan of the Women Police Network for the five-year period 2023/2027.
The themes also include: National Police of Angola – a public security institution, Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings, Female leadership: origin and perspectives, as well as The security challenges of the state border of the Republic of Angola.
Physical violence between intimate partners – guilt as a requirement for the application of the sentence, The perspective of gender participation in peace support operations, Direction of forces: involvement of women in command of the police service, are other aspects that will be under analysis .
Press also learned that the opening ceremony will be preceded by a march and demonstration of strength by female police officers.
Around a thousand personnel from the 18 provinces and guests from SADC will be present.
The Angola/Rempa Police Women’s Network is an organization that brings together the country’s police officers integrated into the SARPCCO/SADC Police Subcommittee, whose objective is the continuous training of its members.
