Africa-Press – Angola. 1,800 trees should be planted this year in several provinces of Angola, as part of the social responsibility of Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA), said Saturday, the President of the Board of Directors of the banking institution, Maria Bernardo.
Maria Bernardo was speaking to the press, during the campaign to plant 200 “manaca” tree seedlings, in some arteries in the city of Cabinda, witnessed by the governor, Mara Quiosa.
During the campaign, carried out as part of activities commemorating BFA’s 30th anniversary (July 9th), PCA reiterated the institution’s commitment to continuing to contribute to the sustainable development of the province, with actions aimed at repopulating various plant species.
He said that the banking institution has a project in its portfolio to build an environmental square in Cabinda, with the aim of providing increasing oxygen to the inhabitants.
Without providing further information about the project, he assured that they are working with local administrative authorities to bring it to fruition.
The governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, said that it is with these types of initiatives that the ecological capital will become an ecological capital in the near future.
The tree planting campaign involved bank employees, members of the government, administration, environmentalists and other guests.
