Africa-Press – Angola. The Executive inaugurated, this Friday, a post for the issuance of identity cards, and the civil registration center, at the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Angola, in the Kingdom of Spain.

The act was presided over by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to the Kingdom of Spain, José Luís de Matos, and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Principality of Andorra, and was attended by officials from that embassy.

On the occasion, the ambassador highlighted the importance of the act, as it allows Angolan citizens residing in both countries to update personal documents, namely the identity card, and to carry out birth registration acts.

The diplomat also highlighted the initiative of the Angolan Executive, in the person of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, which will allow Angolan citizens in the diaspora to participate in the country’s political life, giving them the possibility to exercise the right to vote, in the upcoming elections.

For her part, the interim director-general of the Institute of Angolan Communities Abroad, and Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, praised the work carried out in this process, by technicians from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Justice and Human Rights.
