Africa-Press – Angola. Eight thousand 74 Identity Cards (BI), issued in 2023, are yet to be collected at the twelve Civil Identification posts installed in the province of Bié, reported this Friday, in the city of Cuito, the person responsible for the Civil Identification Service, Isaura Cassova.

Isaura Cassova, who was speaking as part of National Civil Identification Day, which is celebrated today, said that the document takes only 15 days to process, but, inexplicably, users fail to collect it, worrying the authorities.

He also highlighted that, during the year just ended, the institution issued more than 79 thousand Identity Cards, among which 45 thousand were processed for the first time, six thousand in the second copy, over 26 thousand renewals.

The issuance, in 2023, of three thousand 403 criminal records across the province also advanced.

Angola celebrates today, January 5th, Identifier Day, which marks the date on which the first Independent Angola Identity Card was issued, attributed to President António Agostinho Neto, in 1976.
