Africa-Press – Angola. Different bodies involved in the management and security of the Angola/Namibia border have been participating since Monday, in Ondjiva, in technical training aimed at improving action and coordination methods.

The five-day training brought together the bodies of the General Tax Administration (AGT), Customs Tax Police, Border Guard Police (PGF) and the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), in an initiative by the Cunene Technical Unit.

On the occasion, the coordinator of Cunene’s technical unit, Hélio Nzage, highlighted the importance of training as it will standardize the knowledge of these bodies, so they can work in a more coordinated way.

The person in charge called on the trainees to make the most of the topics covered to effectively and efficiently carry out their actions on the border between Angola and Namibia.

During the training action, participants will analyze, among other topics, the legal regime of foreign citizens in the Republic of Angola and the historical background of the common border.

Border protection system, procedures for importing and exporting goods and customs inspection, oil and gas are part of the training course subjects.

The province of Cunene shares 460 kilometers, of which 340 are land and 120 are river, of the border with the Republic of Namibia.
