Africa-Press – Angola. The bust of the first President of Angola will be unveiled this Tuesday, at the National Museum of Luzaka, capital of Zambia, in a ceremony to be chaired by the Angolan Minister of Culture and Tourism, Filipe Zau.

A press release distributed today to press informs that the Angolan official has been in that neighboring country since Sunday, heading a delegation which includes the widow of the nation’s founder, Maria Eugénia Neto.

The placing of wreaths accompanied by solemn music and the reading of the biography of António Agostinho Neto, to be done by a Zambian academic, are part of the program that marks the unveiling of the bust of the greatest Angolan poet in Zambia.

All heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Zambia were invited to this activity, with particular emphasis on the Ambassadors who are part of the so-called frontline countries, such as Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tanzania, as well as representatives of other countries that have always been linked to political life and work of Agostinho Neto.

Cooperation

In fulfillment of his work agenda, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Filipe Zau, held a meeting today with the Minister of Water and Sanitation Development of the Republic of Zambia, Mike Mposha, with whom he addressed issues related to bilateral cooperation , particularly in the fields of culture and tourism.

Angola and Zambia enjoy good friendly relations.

Recently, in Luanda, six legal instruments of bilateral cooperation were signed, with emphasis on the “Construction of Border Connection Roads between Angola and Zambia, Via Jimbe – Mwinulunga and Via Mapelenga (Malundo) – Sikongo” and the “Creation of a Commission Binational”.

The two countries share a long common border, with similar cultures and traditions. In certain areas they speak the same dialect and share the same traditional chief.
