Cabinda: IGAE supervises PIIM projects

Africa-Press – Angola. The General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE) intends to pay, in 2023, greater attention to social projects linked to the Integrated Program of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) and the fight against poverty in Cabinda province.

The information was provided by the provincial delegate of the IGAE in Cabinda, José Pereira Manuel, during a lecture on “the role of the IGAE in Combating small and large corruption”, as part of the 31st anniversary of the General Inspection of State Administration, celebrated on Tuesday. fair (January 17th).

He said that within the scope of the activities carried out with the budgetary units and dependent bodies based in the four municipalities of Cabinda, his delegation has found several shortcomings, irregularities and illegalities.

Among the findings, the discrepancy between the levels of financial and physical execution of the projects to combat poverty and the Integrated Program of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) stands out, where there are actions paid at one hundred percent, but the works never had its beginning.

He recalled that the improvement of the population’s quality of life depends, to a large extent, on the successful fulfillment of the main programs outlined by the Executive and whose implementation is the responsibility of local bodies.

Therefore, it recommended that public managers and companies providing services to the State observe the rules for the execution of the general budget of the State, enshrined in the Law.

He stated that the IGAE will monitor “down to the millimeter” the procedures used in the execution of public expenses.

The IGAE is the auxiliary body of the President of the Republic with the mission of carrying out the internal administrative control of the public administration, through inspection, supervision, auditing, supervision, control, inquiry and investigations of the activity of all bodies and services of the direct administration and indirect from the State and the autonomous administrations.
