Cabinet Council Approves Debt Strategy 2026–2028

Africa-Press – Angola. The Cabinet Council approved Tuesday the Medium-Term Debt Strategy 2026–2028, the Annual Debt Plan for 2026, and a broad package of decrees to simplify licensing, reduce bureaucracy, and boost tourism.

In the area of Public Finances, draft Presidential Decrees were reviewed approving the Medium-Term Debt Strategy 2026/2028, aimed at identifying risks in the debt portfolio and guiding its management in line with fiscal projections, and the Annual Debt Plan for 2026, which defines the financing actions of the State Budget, using domestic and foreign markets, within limits considered sustainable.

The Regulations of the Coordinated Border Management Committee were also reviewed, aiming to strengthen institutional cooperation and facilitate trade at the borders.

Foreign Policy

In the area of foreign policy, draft Presidential Decrees were reviewed approving the Governance and Management Agreement of the Maritime Zone of Common Interest between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, including its addendum, as well as the Agreement with the International Fund for Agricultural Development for the establishment of an office of the institution in Angola.

The Council of Ministers is the collegiate body that assists the President of the Republic, as Head of the Executive Branch, in the formulation and conduct of the country’s general policy and Public Administration.

Ordinary sessions take place in the last week of each month, while extraordinary sessions take place whenever convened by the President of the Republic for that purpose.
