Africa-Press – Angola. More than 100 exhibitors, both national and foreign, are registered to participate in the 1st Edition of the Agricultural Fair, under the motto “Fertile Land, Abundant Life”, from tomorrow until Saturday (2 November), in the municipality of Cacuaco, province of Luanda, the secretary-general and spokesperson for the Nova Era Shopping Centre assured on Monday.Germano da Silva explained that the event will be held at the Nova Era Shopping Center, with the exhibition of various farm products, namely fruits, vegetables, greens, seeds, fertilizers and some agricultural equipment, while the other is reserved for the presentation of wholesalers of live animals, perishable products, frozen products and various other products.

The spokesperson for the commercial institution, located on Avenida Fidel Castro, in Cacuaco, will also feature exhibitors from Portugal, China, India and Brazil.

The Secretary General of the Shopping Center guaranteed that public access to the event venue will be free, with the support of the Cintura Verde Association, the Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL), the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the African Sunrise Group.

Germano da Silva revealed that the Agricultural Fair is being held due to the diverse Fauna and Flora of the municipality of Cacuaco, particularly in the commune of Funda.

“It is estimated that 80 percent of the land is arable and still little explored by the local community. On the other hand, Nova Era also wants to contribute what it can, due to the Executive’s commitment to Agriculture for the diversification of the Angolan economy,” said the spokesperson for the fair’s organization.

Stimulate supply

According to Germano da Silva, the themes of the lectures and round tables will be presented by the director of the Provincial Office of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, João Pedro, and by the president of the Luanda Green Belt, Mitó da Silva.

For the lecture, according to the spokesperson for the 1st Edition of the Nova Era Agricultural Fair, the organization also invited the director of PDAC, Anderson Renato de Brito.

The lecture on “Agriculture 1 and 2”, said the general secretary of the Nova Era Shopping Center, will mark the closing of this 1st Edition of the Agricultural Fair, in the municipality of Cacuaco.

Germano da Silva revealed that the aim of holding this event is to stimulate supply and demand between producers and end consumers, with the aim of strengthening the local economy, promoting agricultural activity and presenting the Mercado Livre do Nova Era as a suitable venue for sales.
