Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the African Football Confederation (CAF), Patrice Mostepe, praised, this Friday, in Luanda, the work carried out by Angola, particularly in the last three years.
In brief statements to the press, after a meeting with the management of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), he expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of the sport, stressing that “Angola is on the right path and I have no doubt that it has some of the best talent on the continent “.
In his brief address, he made it known, however, that small mechanisms must be fine-tuned.
He indicated that his stay in the country’s capital also serves to listen to those involved in this social aspect and identify any impediments.
He called for greater private sector involvement in football academies as well as clubs, so that Africa can continue to be the area with the emergence of more young talents.
“We need to feel more involved on the commercial side in our football, as is done in other parts of the world”, he reiterated.
The official program of the visit of the CAF leader, who arrived in the country for 24 hours, highlights a courtesy meeting with the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, at the Palácio da Cidade Alta, at 11 am on Saturday.
The head of football on the African continent and his delegation will offer courtesy greetings to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão.
In the afternoon (5pm), Patrice Motsepe will participate in a meeting, in one of the capital’s hotels, with Angolan football leaders, mainly provincial associations, clubs and trade associations, and half an hour later the official dinner will take place.
On Saturday, before leaving the Angolan capital, at 12:00 pm, a press conference will be held.
South African Patrice Motsepe is the seventh president of CAF, an institution with 67 years of existence.
