Africa-Press – Angola. The Cameroon national team is carrying out a 15-day training camp at Cidade Desportiva do 1.o de Agosto, in Luanda, with a view to the African Senior Men’s Basketball Championship “AFROCAN`2023”, from 8 to 16 July.
Hosted at the “Dany Massunguna” Residential Complex, the Cameroonians enjoy infrastructure such as a pavilion, gymnasiums and dining halls, for an event reserved for players who evolve in their respective countries, to be played in the Kilamba pavilion.
Guided by the current coach of 1.o de Agosto, Lazare Adingono, the Cameroonian team will be available to the press on Friday.
In this second edition of AFROCAN, Angola seeks to improve the third position obtained in 2019, in Mali, a test won by the Democratic Republic of Congo.
AFROCAN is a recent competition for national teams, held every four years, organized by FIBA to promote and develop basketball in Africa.
The Angolan pre-selection is made up of: Emanuel Sebastião, Francisco Gomes, Miguel Maconda, Jose Nseka (bases), Tarcio Domingos, Kenneth Manuel and Ângelo Alexandre (wingers/bases).
The group is completed by Glofate Buiamba, Geovani Kibinga, Bamba Cissé, Kenny Biango, Ednilson Andrade, Domingos Kissingue, Josué Bartolomeu and Marcelo João (Extremes), Kevin Albino, Wilson Kassav, Macachi Brás, Aloisio Andrade and Walter Luzolo (Extremes/poles).
