Africa-Press – Angola. Participants in the 19th edition of CANFEU encouraged, this Sunday, the Angolan Executive to continue with social and economic reforms, so that families have greater income capacity and quality of life.
This fact was expressed by the general coordinator of the 19th National Holiday Camp for University Students (CANFEU), Crispiniano dos Santos, during the closing speech of the event, which took place over four days, on one of the farms in the municipality of Caála, province of Huambo , under the motto “University youth love their homeland and make Angola grow”.
Crispiniano dos Santos recognized the Angolan Executive’s commitment to implementing public policies, which aim to improve the living conditions of young people and the population in general, engaging them in positive and more dignified actions.
He said that university students, after taking stock of the public policy measures implemented in recent years, recognize the significant investments in Higher Education, which have allowed the number of institutions to grow, with the opening of new undergraduate courses and the consequent increase in vacancies , allowing more access for young people in this subsystem.
Therefore, the JMPLA national first secretary defended the need to reinforce the preservation of peace and the exaltation of patriotism, as driving forces for social development.
The 19th edition of CANFEU, according to the person responsible, took place at a unique moment, in which, increasingly, more empathy, solidarity and love for the country are required from young people.
He reported that in the four days of the event, conferences, visits to public institutions, recreational and solidarity activities were held, which allowed the promotion of constructive debates, demonstrations of the habits and customs of young people from Cabinda to Cunene and from Mar to the East.
Huíla hosts 20th edition
Crispiniano dos Santos announced, on the occasion, the holding of the 20th edition in the provinces of Huíla.
In turn, the second secretary of the MPLA in the province of Huambo, Adérito Chimuco, appealed to the youth to continue to love the Motherland, with gestures and attitudes, capable of promoting inclusive and comprehensive growth.
The end of the event was marked with individual and collective distinctions, with emphasis on best head of delegation, brigade, exhibition, cultural presentation and most creative young person.
The province of Huambo, which hosted the event, was classified as the winner of the 19th edition of CANFEU, with the participation of 1,398 delegates, from the country’s 18 provinces, representing 97 public and private Higher Education institutions.
CANFEU is a national event, organized by JMPLA, whose scope of intervention is based on volunteering and solidarity actions, promoting education for citizenship as well as cultural and patriotic exaltation.
