Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan International Master, Esperança Caxita, faces today (Friday), in the 8th round of the individual African Chess Championship, the Algerian MI Lina Nassr, leader of the competition with six points.

In the competition, which takes place in Egypt until Saturday (13), Esperança Caxita occupies the eighth position with 4.5 points.

The Angolan chess player, who has the highest ranking of female athletes in the country, with 2038, seeks to obtain the unprecedented title of Grand Master (GM) for Angola.

On Thursday, for the seventh round, Caxita tied with the Egyptian Eman Elansary.

Also representing Angola, Mestre Fide, Jemima Paulo (13th) in the ranking table with four points, will face the Egyptian Joy Romany.

The competition, with the participation of 32 chess players, is being played in the Swiss system (all against all).
