Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of the province of Moxico Leste, Crispiniano dos Santos, announced that the construction works of the Cazombo new General Hospital (HGC), in the headquarters of that province, will have a capacity of 100 inpatient beds, could begin “at any time,” after €75.9 million has been made available for national infrastructure expenses.

The governor made this announcement to religious leaders during a recent meeting to present ongoing government initiatives in Angola’s easternmost province, stating that the new HGC will replace the current one, which is already in an advanced state of degradation and far from meeting demand.

The governor assured the religious leaders that the construction of the new HGC will be accompanied by adjacent construction of one-bedroom and one-bedroom residences for healthcare professionals.

Before construction kicks off, Cazombo will have a field hospital, with supplies already being mobilized to ensure rapid construction progress.

According to Crispiniano dos Santos To maximize health and medical care, all nine municipalities received ambulances and medication.

The governor’s announcement of the construction work on the Moxico Leste General Hospital comes days after the Angolan government announced, through Presidential Order No. 207/25, dated August 14, the availability of €75.9 million to cover the related expenses.

He stressed that the budget includes the design, construction, supply of hospital cutting-edge equipment, and an added value of €3.7 million for construction inspection services.
