Africa-Press – Angola. The vice-president of the Superior Council for the Judiciary of the Public Prosecutor’s Office (CSMMP), Luís da Mota Liz, representing the president, Hélder Pitta Groz, conferred, this Monday, the inauguration of the new holder of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) in Huíla, Celma Moreira da Silva Lourenço, recently appointed, in a plenary session of the CSMMP.
With the inauguration of prosecutor Celma Lourenço, four provinces now have women at the head of the PGR, namely Malanje, Bengo, Cuanza-Norte and Huíla. The PGR in Moxico province, however, was once headed by a woman.
Mota Liz considered that the appointment of Celma Lourenço was not a random choice. She said that it was the result of a set of combined acts, depending on her work, dedication, intelligence and delivery, which made the collective recognize her ability to lead.
The magistrate recalled that the prosecutor will lead the direction of a “very important province, as for Huíla”, with great economic value and considerable population density. He said he believes that Celma Lourenço puts the institution’s interests above any personal interest.
The new titular prosecutor in Huíla thanked the PGR for the opportunity and trust placed in her and translated into two words what she considers essential for her mandate: “strength and health”.
The inauguration ceremony took place in the main hall of the Palácio da Justiça, in Luanda, and was attended by the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic for the Military Sphere, Filomeno Octávio, and Deputy Attorneys General Luciano Cachaca, Margarida Gonçalves , Pulquéria Van-Dúnem, Pedro Mendes de Carvalho, Domingos Joaquim and other members of the CSMMP.
