Africa-Press – Angola. Five chess players will be able to represent the province of Moxico in Zone B of the sport, taking place from the 11th to the 17th of this month, in the province of Kwanza Sul.

These are athletes Donaldo Dikson (provincial champion) Laurindo Missengo, José Tchimatamata, José Mateus Sula and Balduíno Palanga, chess players who stood out most in the recent Provincial Absolute Chess Championship, held in the city of Luena.

According to a note from the local association of the sport, the objective of participating in Zonal B is to qualify two athletes for the National Absolute and fight for the title of National Specialist.

In addition to this competition, athlete José Mateus Sula will compete in the National Youth, Under 14, which takes place from the 3rd to the 9th of this month in Namibe, in the National Juniors under 20, in August, in the province of Malanje.

Remembering that chess player Donaldo Dickson recently became champion of the 7th edition of the Absolute Provincial Championship of the sport in Moxico, for the second time in a row, with five points.

In the 7th and final round, Donaldo Dickson benefited from a lack of appearance by athlete Estevão Angolar, in a competition played in the Swiss system, with the presence of 12 chess players.

The champion finished the competition with the same score with chess players Laurindo Missengo, José Tchimatamata and Mateus Sula, however he benefited from the advantage of the confrontations between them, repeating the scenario recorded in the 6th edition, when in the last round he ended in a draw with Laurindo Missengo, also with five points.
