Africa-Press – Angola. Chess player Laurindo Missengo, provincial runner-up in Moxico, said this Wednesday in Luena that he aims to reach the podium in Zonal B, taking place from the 9th to the 15th of the current month, in the province of Namibe.
The most titled chess player in the province in the last five years (three trophies), told that the main objective in zone B is the podium, positions that guarantee passage to the National Championship, taking place in Luanda, in August.
“I’m going to Namibe to do what I know how, with great caution to be among the best”, reiterated Laurindo Missengo, winner of the recently ended peace tournament.
In turn, the president of the Provincial Chess Association of Moxico (APX/Mx), João Baptista Nguiji, said that the lack of financial support made it impossible to send four more athletes from the province to Zonal B.
On the occasion, he requested the support of the local business community, for the massification of “sport science” in the province.
