Africa-Press – Angola. Two hundred 50 children who play basketball and work in different clubs in the province of Huíla were, on Saturday, trained in subjects related to the sport by instructors from the National Basketball Association (NBA), in an initiative by the mobile phone company Africell.
The “Jr. NBA linic with Africell”, in partnership with NBA Africa, brought together children from Sporting, Benfica do Lubango, HEJA, Ferrovia and Desportivo da Huíla, as well as schools Paula Francinete and Núcleos da Chibia and Humpata, aiming at the massification of Basketball.
The owner of one of the NBA’s agent and partner companies, Victor Muzadi, said that it was an activity developed by Africell and cooperation with NBA Africa, within the scope of its massification and social responsibility programs, and the city was chosen from Lubango to carry out the first of many other activities.
He detailed that his company collaborates with the NBA (American Basketball Association) in sporting activities and some social responsibility activities, and a “three for three” competition coach came to Huíla and in five hours it was possible to involve athletes, coaches and table officials.
He stated that basic knowledge about basketball was taught, such as physical conditioning, intrusion and use of space.
In turn, the president of the Huíla Provincial Basketball Association, Cruz AleIxo, praised the Huíla government’s support for the project, and said he hoped for more meetings of this kind, as the involvement of hundreds of children in training with instructors was significant. qualified.
