Circulation resumed on the Tomboco/Nzeto section

Africa-Press – Angola. Road traffic on Estrada Nacional-210, which connects the municipalities of Tomboco and Nzeto, in the province of Zaire, resumed this Friday, after two days of interruption caused by heavy rains.

The floods destroyed the shackles that supported the hydraulic passage in the subsection between the villages of Wene and Mussenga, 23 kilometers from the town of Tomboco.

The provincial governor of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, who followed the work to replace the new shackles on site, assured that circulation on the EN-210 was provisionally reopened.

The governor described the situation that occurred over the last two days in this section as chaotic, with dozens of vehicles traveling in both directions without the possibility of continuing on to their destinations.

In turn, the director of the Provincial Infrastructure and Technical Services Office, Zuela Capilo, explained that the provisional solution consisted of placing new shackles and consequent compaction with reinforced concrete.

He informed that the work was supported by the public works and civil construction company “Tecnovia-Angola”, under the coordination of the National Road Institute of Angola (INEA).

According to the person responsible, a definitive solution on this section that connects the provinces of Zaire and Luanda should be found in January of next year.
