Africa-Press – Angola. The relays from the Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda (CNIL) broke two national junior records in the 4x100m style and freestyle events of the Provincial Championship by categories, which ended on Sunday, at the Nádia Cruz Swimming Pool, in Rio Seco.
With the team made up of internationals Nyriam Morais, Inara Santos, Welwitchia Silva and Neizla Santos, the group completed the 4×10 styles route with a time of 5:06.10, surpassing the previous time of 5:26. 75 established by the 1st of August in 2022.
The other category record is 4:30. 82 took place in the 4x100m freestyle with athletes Welwitchia Silva, Ana Nunes and Nyriam Morais breaking the fastest time of 4:39.72, also achieved by 1.o de Agosto, also in 2022.
The 1.o de Agosto athlete was another highlight of the competition in the country’s capital by setting a new children’s record in the 200m breaststroke of 3:10.21, nullifying the 3:11.20 mark of former teammate Maria Cipcic, in 2012.
Overall. the third edition of the Luanda provincial championship produced 28 records, three of which were national and 25 were provincial records.
1.o de Agosto, in men, with 42,174 points, and Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda, in women, with 34,120 points, won the Provincial Championship titles.
