In beginners, the Ilha team led in both genders (male and female), totaling 735 points, the same feat obtained in cadets (8,157pts), children (17,674 pts) and youth (22,440 pts).
During the race, the CNIL stood out with swimmer Santiago Guimarães, who won eight gold medals in the children’s category.
Clube Náutico was only surpassed in the junior categories by 1.o de Agosto (24,595 pts) and in the senior category by Onda Sport Clube, which won the title of three-time champion in this class (8,754 pts).
At the time, CNIL coach Carlos Alberto said that despite the squad’s performance, he expected more, especially in the female seniors, but the absence of Rafaela Santos dictated the loss of the title at this level.
Regarding the organization of the competition, under the auspices of the Angolan Swimming Federation (FAN), the coach defended greater publicity in order to fill the stands with more spectators to motivate practitioners.
The head of Onda Sport Clube, Luís Cláudio, said that the third title in the senior class demonstrates the growth of his association.
He praised the emergence and increase of “masters” athletes from 20 to 28 in this event.
