Africa-Press – Angola. Three hundred and 36 million kwanzas were spent, in 2022, in the municipality of Cangandala, northern Malanje province, on 45 construction actions, rehabilitation of social facilities and acquisition of means.
Among the actions carried out within the scope of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP) and outlined by the Consultation Council for Communities, emphasis should be given to the rehabilitation and construction of schools, health centers, the purchase of medicines, school meals , agricultural equipment and land preparation for cultivation.
The information was provided today, Friday, by the municipal administrator of Cangandala, Engrácia Ramos, according to which, this year, the PIDLCP will prioritize the agricultural and livestock sector, within the framework of the resizing that the local government intends to give to combat actions the poor.
With regard to the PIIM, he said that the district has a portfolio of five projects, of which three have already been implemented, namely a school with seven classrooms and another with 12, as well as the acquisition of a lot of equipment for basic sanitation.
He regretted the delay in earthworks on the Cangandala/Caribo/Culamagia (60 km) and Cangandala/Bembo (85 km) sections, resulting from the technical inability of the contractor.
Covering an area of 6,961 square kilometres, the municipality of Cangandala is 28 kilometers from the city of Malanje and has an estimated population of 40,000, spread over the main communes, Bembo, Caribo and Culamagia.
The circumscription was elevated to the category of village on January 1, 1970.
