Africa-Press – Angola. The commander of the Northern Military Region, Lieutenant General António José Neto, asked, this Monday in Uige, the military to be ready to prevent any type of invasion of the country and guarantee the defense of the sovereignty and integrity of the national territory.
This mission must be accomplished with organization and discipline, based on capacity and skill in the field of technique, weapons and military art, explained the lieutenant general in the opening speech of the Year of Operational, Combative and Educational-Patriotic Preparation 2024- 2025.
Regarding operational and combative preparation, he said that he will increase the levels of combative readiness of units and subunits. For this reason, he argued that this commitment constitutes the determining factor for the military in the assimilation of the various subjects to be administered during the instruction period.
According to the lieutenant general, the military is aware that in the modern world nothing is static, for this reason, the military must be faced with new challenges, aiming at the permanent improvement of the FAA’s capabilities.
In this sense, António José Neto asked the military to maintain psychological, moral and physical readiness, in order to repress any attempt at internal or external aggression, support the population in the event of an accident or natural calamity, among other missions provided for in the Constitution of the Republic of Angola and International Law.
The commander also urged the military to redouble the security and surveillance system, continue with educational and patriotic exaltation days, continue to pay greater attention to the organization, maintenance, conservation, technical control and armament, heritage and all the assets made available to the FAA.
He explained that the success in carrying out the planned tasks depends, to a large extent, on the improvement of military discipline and organization, combined with the high sense of permanentness of the leaders for any mission, in favor of guaranteeing the maintenance of peace and stability.
The event, witnessed by several senior FAA entities and guests, was marked by a cultural moment and a parade of troops in parade.
