By intervening in the I National Methodological Meeting on the 2022 general elections, which aims to prepare the local bodies of the CNE in order to master the competences, as well as listen to their “specific concerns”, for the successful completion of the election, the The president of the National Electoral Commission drew attention to the strict compliance with the deadlines of the programmed tasks and included in the institutional schedule.
Manuel Pereira da Silva valued the meeting, which ends today, at the National School of Public Policy Administration (ENAPP). He stressed that what it is allowing for the exchange of experiences on matters related to financial administration and personnel management, electoral training and civic education, electoral organization and logistics, as well as information technology and statistics.
He indicated that these matters are linked to the fundamental areas of the CNE and are included in the activities plan and institutional schedule. The various themes of the meeting are being transmitted by the national directors and supervised by the national commissioners, in the guise of moderators.
“The present meeting should serve to get to know each other better, strengthen the bonds of cohesion and friendship, fraternity and mutual respect that exist between the different bodies, entities and employees of the institution”, said the president of the CNE, who defended the effectiveness of local bodies. of the institution, for a perfect domain of competences during the implementation of the specific guidelines of the plenary.
Speaking to the press, CNE spokesman Lucas Quilundo informed that logistical issues to support the general elections in August are also being evaluated at the methodological meeting, to allow a perception of the capacity and fulfill the mission of organizing the process.
Asked if there is already a timetable for the distribution of logistics in the different provinces, he said only that the different regions of the country will be given guidelines so that the local bodies have the capacity to carry out the tasks guided by the plenary of the CNE.
Quilundo considered the level of execution of the programmed tasks to be “positive”, stressing that they were carried out within the established deadlines. related to civic education and training of electoral agents.
In this regard, he recalled that, under the law, electoral observation begins one month before election day, while the accreditation process will begin with the call for elections and the counting of candidacies by the Constitutional Court.
