Africa-Press – Angola. The Republic of Angola has been an international reference in the promotion of gender equality, recognized Thursday, in Luanda, the former vice-president of Costa Rica, Epsy Campbell Barr.

The official spoke on the panel on “the challenges of globalization in the process of gender empowerment”, framed in the first International Women’s Forum for Peace and Democracy.

According to Epsy Campbell Barr, promoting gender parity is key to making quality decisions for communities and ensuring inclusion.

He believes that strong constitutions are needed to ensure greater inclusion of women, so that they have an active participation in the economy, politics and society.

He defended the adoption of budgets that guarantee inclusion, with assumptions based on indicators on what the State spends on women in the areas of health, education, training in mathematics and engineering.

For Epsy Barr, women should rise to posts through their abilities, unlike many men who get there through influences.

Women’s Cooperative Bank

The former vice president of Costa Rica proposed the adoption of an agreement for the creation of an international cooperative bank that finances women in community, national or global businesses.

Said financial institution must be made up of female shareholders.

She believes that if the cooperative bank reached at least 400 million customers with investments in new technologies, the blue, green and orange economy would guarantee women personal and political empowerment to govern the world.

In the panel she shared with the former president of Liberia, Ellen Johnson, the Costa Rican politician also defended greater attention to women’s education, for their true empowerment.

At the event, the Minister of State for the Social Area, Dalva Ringote Allen, praised advances in promoting gender in Angola, given the dedication of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, to the cause of women.

Dalva Ringote valued the defense in the lectures of female leaders that impact on the communities.
