Africa-Press – Angola. As of this Monday, the country will begin testing the authenticity of Angolan diamonds with the acquisition of a traceability machine, the Secretary of State for Mineral Resources reported in Luanda.Jânio Correia Victor, who was speaking on the sidelines of the second intersection meeting that aimed to analyze the Kimberley Process (KP) certification system for diamond producing countries, said that the process will allow the certification of diamonds produced in national territory, having mentioned that the G7 countries want to be sure that some diamonds do not come from countries with sanctions.
Jânio Correia also said it was important to highlight that the Kimberley Process, within the framework of the ongoing reforms, approved as good practices the listing in the KP certificate of the countries of mining origin for the aggregated diamond parcels, guaranteeing transparent and independent certification of the origin of the diamonds.
Another measure, he pointed out, was the implementation of the PK certificate traceability and digitalization system.
