Africa-Press – Angola. The Multisectoral Commission for the Prevention and Combat of Covid-19 was extinguished, this Saturday (8), in Luanda, by Presidential Decree, informed, yesterday, the minister of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Furtado.

At a press conference, held yesterday at the Aníbal de Melo Press Centre, in Luanda, Francisco Furtado explained that there was a need to change the administrative measures currently in force, the President of the Republic decreed the extinction of the aforementioned commission.

According to the Minister of State, with the announcement of the end of the Situation of Public Calamity, on May 16 of this year, it was necessary to redefine some rules on the administrative management of the pandemic in the country.

From now on, the commission must, within a maximum period of 90 days, determine the rational use and destination of the existing heritage. “The coordination of the extinct Multisectoral Commission for the Prevention and Combat of Covid-19 must ensure the liquidation management and the supervening administrative matters. The Ministry of Finance must monitor the process of liquidation and approval of the final accounts of the now extinct Commission”, he said.

As long as the pandemic situation persists and there is a risk of mass contagion, health authorities, he said, must maintain control and surveillance, applying all useful and proportionate administrative measures to mitigate the risk, based on National and International Health Regulations. .

“Without prejudice to the provisions of the previous number, all private and public natural and collective entities have a general duty to protect public health, establishing and enforcing the biosecurity rules appropriate to contain the spread of the pandemic situation”, he clarified.

Border Control

Leaving the national territory, he added, is dependent on the presentation of a vaccination certificate, which attests to complete immunization, without prejudice to additional formalities required by the country of destination.

“Entries into the national territory are dependent on the presentation of a vaccination certificate and test of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, with a negative result, carried out within 48 hours before the trip”, he said.

As for individual protection measures, Francisco Furtado considers the use of a face mask optional. But, he highlighted, “the use of a face mask is mandatory in health units, pharmacies and events likely to cause high gatherings”, he advanced, in addition to highlighting that the use of a face mask is recommended in closed places with public access.

Immunization Via Vaccine

With a view to defending public health, the Minister of the Civil House of the President of the Republic recommends that all citizens, from the age of 12, undergo immunization via vaccine.

In order to guarantee safety, according to Francisco Furtado, it is also mandatory to present a Vaccination Certificate, or equivalent document attesting to complete immunization, for citizens over 18 years of age, in public tenders for admission to the Public Administration. , as well as enrollment for access to higher education.

“It is delegated competence to the ministerial departments for the establishment of rules and administrative measures for surveillance and health control”, he highlighted.

Administered Doses

The country administered, in the last 24 hours, through the High Performance Vaccination Posts (PVARs), as well as advanced, mobile teams and in health units, 10,796 doses of vaccine against Covid-19, said yesterday, the secretary of State for Public Health, Pinto de Sousa.

Among the provinces with the highest daily production, he explained, are Uíge, with 2,431 vaccines, Benguela (1,662), Malanje (1,657) and Luanda (1,185), according to data from the Individual Digital Register for Vaccination against COVID-19. (ReDIV).

“The cumulative points to 22,787,277 doses administered, with a coverage rate of the target population (aged 12 years and over, who took a dose) of 76.68 percent and an average of 42.05 percent ( of people with a single dose or two doses)”, he said.

Regarding the vaccination situation in Angola, Pinto de Sousa said that 18,932,660 people have been vaccinated, of which 14,517,563 have had a dose and 7,960,977 already have full doses.

Currently, he continued, there are 1,217,144 users with booster doses. “It should also be noted that there are 6,512,581 people without the second dose and 6,619,591 without the booster dose”, he highlighted.
