CPJ holds Extraordinary General Assembly

Africa-Press – Angola. The Caixa de Previdência da Justiça (CPJ) will hold, on the 13th of October, an Extraordinary General Assembly, to change its Statute and Regulations and redefine the future of this mutual association.

The session will take place at the Palace of Justice, in Luanda, at 9:00 am, and allegedly results from the need to adapt such documents to the country’s new socio-economic reality and the diplomas that govern mutualism.

In a note sent, CPJ considers that socioeconomic development requires the adoption of modern models of social protection, given the emergence of new concepts of complementarity based on private initiatives.

To this end, it convenes its associates, highlighting that the last electoral election held on August 18, 2023, resulted in the constitution of new Social Bodies and the election of President Claudino Filipe.

“This Extraordinary General Assembly takes place in compliance with number 1 of article 61 of Presidential Decree no. 32/22, of 1 February on the Legal Regime Applicable to the Creation, Organization, Operation and Termination of Mutualist Associations, within the framework of Complementary Social Protection “, he clarifies.

The Justice Pension Fund (CPJ) is a non-profit Mutualist Association of which employees in this sector, Judicial Magistrates and the Public Prosecutor’s Office and their respective staff in performance of their duties can be members, provided they register.

Retired citizens and employees of the association itself may also be members.

CPJ aims to promote solidarity between members and their families, as well as the granting of Social Security, health and social protection benefits, with a view to guaranteeing their quality of life.

Meanwhile, the association focuses on the organization and management of social support equipment and services and activities aimed especially at the moral, intellectual, cultural and physical development of members and their relatives.

Specifically, the actions of the Justice Pension Fund include Protection during illness; Maternity protection; Disability protection; Protection in old age; Subsidy for family members upon death of a member; Salary supplement; Granting of credits; and Social actions.
