Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy executive secretary of the Provincial Youth Council (CPJ) in Huambo, Natália Rufina, expressed, this Wednesday, the need for youth to be committed to preserving peace, to allow for the country’s sustainable development.

The person in charge spoke during the youth forum, which analyzed the historical journey of the potato heroes of Cuito Cuanavale (Cuando Cubango) and the appreciation of the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation, which takes place on April 4th.

He explained that the battle of Cuito Cauanavale was a historic feat that contributed to the achievement of peace in Angola in 2002, as well as the liberation of Southern Africa between 1987 and 1988, whose leading role failed the white supremacy that imposed “Apartheid” in South Africa. and the achievement of Namibian Independence.

In this perspective, he highlighted the need for young people to be persistent in maintaining and promoting effective peace and security in communities, through concrete actions linked to the fight against juvenile delinquency and actions that incite social violence, so that, on a continuous basis, it can be implemented sustainable development.

He highlighted that youth must constantly seek inspiration from the heroes of Cuito Cuanavale, to defend patriotic values ​​and build a society committed to the social and economic progress of communities.

Natália Rufina said that it is imperative to preserve the public heritage achieved with the gains of peace and the permanent participation of youth in programs to improve the living conditions of the local population, as well as in the construction of new infrastructures fundamental to progress promoted by the Government.

Likewise, he called on young people to invest in technical-professional and academic training to act with knowledge of the facts in programs related to the sustainable development of communities.

He recognized the Government’s efforts in creating space for technical and professional training for youth in various areas and consequently continuing economic progress, which requires good youth conduct.

He said that youth must be the main actor for the continuity of sustainable development programs implemented by the Government, through public policies aimed at improving the well-being of the province of Huambo.

He highlighted that growth is notable in the industrial sectors with hundreds of small and medium-sized companies, agriculture, water, energy, road network, school infrastructure, technical-professional, health, sports, culture and in the field of recovery of forest polygons.

With a new political paradigm that emerged in 2017 in the country, the majority of socioeconomic projects are promoted through the Integrated Municipal Intervention Plan (PIIM) and the Fight against Poverty in communities, in addition to infrastructure construction programs under central subordination. larger.
