To this end, the organization will ensure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour, including the recruitment and use of child soldiers by 2025.

It was also recommended to strengthen national development strategies and plans for the eradication of extreme poverty and the fight against social inequalities.

CPLP members reiterated their commitment to promoting social policies, namely active employment measures, mainly for young people, as well as extending universal social protection, gradually implementing national social protection floors, in line with the Organization’s recommendation International Labor Organization (ILO).

The Government of São Tomé and Principe, which will receive the Presidency of the CPLP in August 2023, was encouraged to pursue a community linkage that would allow for increased inter-sectoral cooperation between the Member States.

This measure is intended to reinforce the contribution of the CPLP to the implementation of Agenda 2030, for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063 of the African Union.
