Africa-Press – Angola. The Growing Together program carried out by Banco Internacional de Crédito (BIC) approved, on Wednesday, the financing of fifteen social projects for 2024, announced the president of the Board of Directors of this institution, Hugo Teles.
According to the president, who was speaking to the press at the end of the Project Advisory Board meeting, the fifteen selected processes will be part of the other ten financed in 2022, totaling 25 projects since the launch of the program.
In 2022, he continued, BIC launched the Crescer Juntos Program with the purpose of being the best social responsibility platform in Angola in supporting social organizations that undertake solutions to combat poverty.
Hugo Teles added that one of the innovations that the program brings this year has to do with the fact that the selected projects will benefit from the funds for two consecutive years.
“We believe that this has been a practice increasingly adopted internationally, as it allows the time necessary for the project to present greater and better social impacts, exactly what we seek with Crescer Juntos”, he said.
In this year’s selection process, he continued, the program received more than 450 applications that were carefully evaluated by the technical team until reaching the number of 30 finalist NGOs that were interviewed by the technical team.
“We are optimistic with the results achieved so far, especially with the adhesion of the current 16 co-investing companies. This is the spirit that animates Crescer Juntos”, he asserted.
Hugo Teles made it known that more than 50 thousand people have already been impacted by the program and 14 non-governmental organizations have become legal.
The Crescer Juntos program aims to provide financial support, training, mentoring and visibility to the supported social organizations.
