Africa-Press – Angola. Three social facilities built by the government to improve the quality of life of the population of Cuangar, Cuando Cubango, were inaugurated this Saturday, as part of the celebration of the day of the national hero, António Agostinho Neto.

This is a health post that will serve more than 250 citizens living in the village of Kafuma, located 81 kilometers from the municipal headquarters of Cuangar.

It includes medicine, surgery and pediatric services, built within the framework of Combating Poverty, budgeted at 27 million.

As part of National Hero’s Day, the youth of the municipality of Cuangar also received a professional training center, which will provide computer courses, pastry making, cutting and sewing, as part of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), budgeted at more of 175 million kwanzas.

With this inauguration, the provincial service of the National Institute of Employment and Professional Training (INEFOP) reaches the fourth municipality, after Menongue, Cuchi and Cuito Cuanavale, missing Calai, Dirico, Mavinga, Rivungo and Nankova.

The municipality of Cuangar, which witnessed the provincial act of the national hero, also gained a seed bank that can be an option for small producers who wish to be independent.

On the occasion, the governor of Cuando Cubango, José Martins, highlighted the figure of the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, highlighting his qualities as a patriot, who always sought an Angola free from the colonial regime, pacified and developed in its most varied aspects. aspects.

“Angola’s history cannot be dissociated from its first president, a leader whose contribution benefited not only Angola, but also part of the continent, especially the southern region of Africa”, he highlighted.

He recalled the famous phrase that: “the most important thing is to solve the people’s problems”, which has implied the creation of public policies that meet the real needs of the population, designing goods and services that meet their needs.

He added that in obedience to the wise guidelines of the nation’s founder, the country has experienced a scenario of development in various aspects through targets set to respond to the most pressing challenges.

Under the motto “Together for the development of Angola”, he made it known that a series of actions had been approved to make the province increasingly developed, progressive and good to live in.

In this context, he stated that, in the field of traffic and people’s mobility, work is underway to begin asphalting works on National Road 140, which will facilitate circulation from the municipality of Cuangar to the rest of the national territory and vice/versa.

The section will also improve the connection between the national territory and the neighboring Republic of Namibia, through the Katuitui border post

According to the official, the rehabilitation of the EN 280 in the Mavinga/Rivungo section has also been approved and administrative processing is being carried out for the Cuito Cuanavale/Mavinga section to connect Angola and Zambia by road.

On the social side, as a way to combat hunger and reduce poverty, he highlighted PLANAGRÃO, where Cuando Cubango is among the four provinces in the country that will host the first phase of the project.

He highlighted that public policies have led to work to improve the living conditions of the population, with a local initiative program, called “Mama raises”, with the aim of empowering women, having already benefited more than 97 families in the municipalities of Menongue , Nankova and Cuangar.

The act was witnessed by delegates and directors of public institutions, defense, security and internal order bodies, traditional and ecclesiastical authorities, among other guests.

At the end, various goods were delivered, with emphasis on three- and two-wheel motorbikes, household appliances, various food items, among other means, to young people and women to promote self-employment, as well as combat poverty.
