Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy governor of Zaire for the political, social and economic sector, Afonso Nzolameso, highlighted, Thursday, in the village of Cuimba, the social impact actions implemented in recent months by the Provincial Government in favor of the local population.
According to the official who was speaking at the presentation of the new municipal administrator of Cuimba, Isabel Queba Salvador, the current state of the village is a reflection of the actions taken by the Provincial Government to gradually improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of this border area with the DRC.
He highlighted the asphalting, for the first time (since national independence), of the main streets of the town of Cuimba, within the scope of a project for the rehabilitation of urban roads in the province’s municipal headquarters, financed by the Kingdom of Spain.
Afonso Nzolameso also spoke of the construction of drinking water supply systems in the village of Mpangala and in the communes of Buela and Luvaka, as well as the building and equipping of two schools with seven and 12 classrooms at the municipal headquarters.
The project portfolio also includes the rehabilitation of the Ngombe ya Ngombe/Ngandu/Buela section and the construction of two bridges over the Lukazi river.
The rehabilitation and expansion of the Municipal Hospital, the construction of a protocol residence for the administration and the construction of a bridge over the Mboba river for access to the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) complete the range of actions.
He added that, at the moment, public lighting work was under way on the main roads of the municipal seat of Cuimba.
On the occasion, Afonso Nzolameso asked the local population to collaborate with the new administrator, giving her full support so that the municipality continues to tread the paths of development.
The new municipal administrator replaces Afonso Nzolameso, current deputy governor of Zaire for the political, social and economic sector.
Located 62 kilometers from the city of Mbanza Kongo, the municipality of Cuimba has an estimated population of over 70,000 inhabitants, spread over four communes: Luvaka, Buela, Serra de Kanda and Sede.
