Africa-Press – Angola. A project to encourage reading will be implemented this month in the city of Ndalatando (Cuanza-Norte), within the scope of the National Reading Plan strategies.
The project, called “Travel Literature Education Program in Communities”, will be promoted by the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports.
The head of the Department of Culture, Historical Heritage and Religious Affairs, Genilson Costa, informed that the project begins on the 23rd of this month, with the exhibition “Books, Letters and Art”, taking place at Largo 1 in May.
He said that in addition to the exhibition, the program includes debates about books, art and cultural heritage and aims to encourage reading in communities, through the assembly of mobile libraries in places with a large population concentration.
The initiative has several works available, including philosophy, psychology, religion, social, exact and applied sciences, art, music and sports, and will cover readers from the province’s ten municipalities.
The project will be carried out by a group of one hundred technicians from the institution, trained in 2023, by the National Library, in Luanda.
