Africa-Press – Angola. 1.o de Agosto suspended the participation of all roller hockey levels in the Luanda Provincial Championships, due to lack of conditions.
This Thursday, the “military” club alleges a lack of conditions, without specifying which ones, to compete in the different levels of the provincial capital of the country.
The tests are scheduled for the month of April, in juveniles, juniors and seniors, the latter holder of the 2015 and 2016 sceptres.
The traditional club, one of the biggest in number of sports, participations and achievements inside and outside the country is going through financial problems resulting from the cut of the monthly budget from 800 million to 200 million kwanzas by the Ministry of Finance.
In 2021, the 1st of August extinguished the modality of volleyball, one of the oldest and most titled in the community.
In recent years, manifestations of dissatisfaction on the part of workers, athletes and managers for breach of contracts and non-payment of monthly fees have been common, in a wave in which there has even been a strike.
Recently, the mini-basketball coaches, soccer school, swimming and general services employees stopped in protest at the wage pending.
Yesterday, in a statement made public, the Disciplinary Council of the Angolan Football Federation condemned 1.o de Agosto to pay, in 60 days, kz 4,739,000.00, to its former offensive midfielder Vanilson Zéu, referring to the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
The 23-year-old is currently playing for Amora FC in Portugal.
