Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy governor for the political, social and economic sector of Cuando Cubango, Helena Lourenço Chimena, highlighted, in Menongue, the achievements of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) in guaranteeing peace, territorial integrity and defense of national sovereignty.
Speaking on Friday at the opening of the year of Combative Instruction and Patriotic Education 2023/2024, the deputy governor recognizes that the FAA, since its constitution as a military institution, has always carried out its mission with bravery and courage, in the various stages of its historical trajectory from the country.
Helena Lourenço Chimena recalled that this bravery and courage was thanks to the ongoing training and instruction of capable men who make all Angolans proud.
He asked the instructors and commanders at the various levels of the armed forces organizations for patience, the instructors for greater dedication, because technological innovation, allied to globalization, requires training and continuous instruction, to deal with the current challenges.
The operational, combative preparation and patriotic education, during the year 2023/2024 in the 5th Division South Military Region, makes it a priority to instill in the military knowledge about the laws and regulations in force in the Angolan Armed Forces and in the country.
The year of instruction also reserves as challenges the intensification of programs to combat HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, tuberculosis and diabetes, within the scope of the campaign “I love life”, with a view to reducing mortality rates from preventable causes, as well as raising levels of discipline and continuing to promote military values and virtues
It also includes the continuous fight against illegal immigration and other cross-border crimes, as well as promoting educational measures for the preparation of the environment, continuing to cement national unity, peace and stability throughout the territory of the 5th Division.
