Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Administration and Territory, Dionísio da Fonseca, paid tribute, on Monday, to the victims of the genocide in Rwanda by laying a wreath at the Memorial erected by the victims of the tragic incident.

The official, who has been in the capital Rwanda since Monday, carried out a guided tour of the country’s historical sites, having been informed by the Angolan ambassador to Rwanda, Filomeno Octávio, about the importance and value that families and orphans, in particular, attribute to the Memorial in the pacification of spirits.

Dionísio Manuel da Fonseca signed the book of honor, with a message of comfort to the victims and recognition from the local authorities, for the capacity demonstrated in the process that led to the pacification and reconciliation of the Rwandan people.

The Rwanda Genocide Memorial preserves the remains of 250,000 victims of the 1994 genocide and is visited by more than 3,000 people per week, including national and foreign citizens.

The minister also visited the Campaign Against Genocide museum, a space adjacent to the Rwandan Parliament that portrays and preserves the history of the 1994 conflict.
