Africa-Press – Angola. The ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Angola, Manuel Maria Lajarreta Lobo, defended Thursday, in Luanda, the promotion and dissemination of the Spanish language, with a view to obtaining satisfactory results from bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The diplomat, who was speaking regarding the celebration of October 12th, Spain’s National Day, stated that “relations between Angola and Spain are intense” and cover important areas for the socio-economic progress of both nations.
Manuel Maria Lajarreta Lobo praised the Iberophone aspect, an important aspect for the use of both languages – Spanish and Portuguese -, stating that work is underway to achieve increasingly better results through the materialization of projects to promote and disseminate the Spanish language.
The renewable energy sector (solar, wind, green hydrogen), for example, greatly helps countries to complete the energy transition, a vision, according to the diplomat, seen during King Felipe VI’s visit to Angola, the first to a country of Sub-Saharan Africa, since taking office in February this year.
It is recalled that the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, made a state visit to the Kingdom of Spain in September 2021, which served to discuss with King Felipe VI issues linked to bilateral cooperation, which Luanda and Madrid want to see expanded.
