Diplomats and Academics Discuss Venezuela'S Projection in Africa

Africa-Press – Angola. The projections of the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy on the African continent, as part of Venezuela’s foreign policy, from a strategic, historical and prospective perspective, were presented this Friday in Luanda, at a conference.

Promoted by the Venâncio de Moura Diplomatic Academy (ADVM), the conference, entitled “Geopolitics of Peace and Integration: Venezuela’s Presence in Africa”, was held within the scope of the Memorandum of Understanding between the ADVM and the Pedro Gual Institute of Advanced Diplomatic Studies, of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela”.

When speaking, the Director General of the Diplomatic Academy, José Marcos Barrica, said that the two diplomatic training institutions are important platforms for ensuring the growth and strengthening of relations.He said that the scientific and academic cooperation agreement, which has existed for over five years, has allowed other joint and reciprocal actions to be carried out. In this context, cooperation is sought in priority areas such as scientific research, exchange of trainers and researchers, student mobility, organization and development, seminars and publication of research papers, as well as joint research, according to the diplomat. “In this spirit of willingness of both institutions and of moving forward side by side with firmness and confidence, towards the solemn fulfillment of the commitments that are written, the holding of the conference, just a few months before the 50th anniversary of Angola’s independence and the 214th anniversary of the signing of Venezuela’s Charter of Freedom,” he stressed. Diplomats, public entities, teachers, university students, representatives of the Diplomatic Corps Accredited to the Republic of Angola, as well as employees of MIREX, the Venezuelan Embassy and the Venâncio de Moura Diplomatic Academy, as well as the general public, participated in the conference.
