Africa-Press – Angola. The ambassadors of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries in the United States of America (USA) addressed this Monday, in Washington DC, involvement in promoting and attracting investments for the region, with emphasis on the Lobito corridor.

​In the presence, according to a press release, of the organization’s executive secretary, Elias Magosi, the diplomats also assessed fundamental internal issues, with a special focus on the ​SADC-US Dialogue Forum.

During the meeting, at the Angolan Embassy in Washington DC, the importance of strategic collaboration between ambassadors and North American institutions was emphasized, aiming at the development of the SADC region.

The diplomats presented a summary of the activities carried out with US authorities and institutions, especially on topics of common interest to the region and member countries.

On the other hand, Elias Magosi highlighted the need to disseminate documents and reports from the SADC Council to align methodologies and strategies among all involved.

Currently, Angola holds the rotating presidency of SADC and the group of ambassadors in Washington DC is led by the Angolan diplomat in the USA, Agostinho Van-Dúnem.

SADC is a regional economic community made up of Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, eSwatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
