“Eskebra” store chain creates more than 20 jobs

Africa-Press – Angola. More than twenty jobs, direct and several indirect, were created with the opening Monday, of the second “Eskebra” store, located in the district of Camama, municipality of Talatona, in Luanda.

Employees residing at Talatona were admitted during the recruitment process and underwent appropriate training to perform the roles of cashiers, bakery clerks, stevedore, cleaners, drivers and others.

According to the Eskebra project manager, Glória Bettencourt, who spoke to the press, the store will provide residents with the possibility of purchasing national products at lower prices.

He explained that the population cluster and the usual daily circulation in the area were the reasons for choosing the Camama district to open the chain’s second store. “Our goal is to be increasingly closer to our customers, in all economic quadrants,” he said.

The Manager stated that the objective is to open a network of Eskebra stores that will sell 100 percent national products with the possibility and ability to purchase them at affordable prices, emphasizing that by the end of the year 20 stores are expected to open in Luanda.

He added that customers will have the opportunity to find completely national products at the price of an Eskebra, i.e. values charged by the wholesale market.

“Right now we have 95% of products made nationally in our stores, with the exception of imported goods, mainly canned goods that are not yet produced domestically, but our main objective is to have 100 percent national goods,” he stressed.

The “Eskebra” group has existed in the Angolan market for 30 years and has a total of more than 100 employees and intends to open more than 250 stores in the 18 provinces, within a period of five years.

The group’s first store was opened in the Sanzala neighborhood, municipality of Viana.
