Africa-Press – Angola. Event promoters in the city of Ondjiva, capital of the province of Cunene, advocate the need to make it easier and faster to grant licenses to legalize end-of-year parties.
According to António Machado, one of the event promoters, there is still some slowness and bureaucracy on the part of the municipal administration of Cuanhama in issuing licenses that authorize the holding of parties and shows during New Year’s Eve.
When speaking during a meeting between cultural agents and Cuanhama administration, which aimed to address organizational issues regarding the festive season, the promoter said that the delay in delivering documents ends up creating constraints, having called for faster renewal of the process, with a view to encouraging organizers to legalize the activities.
António Machado clarified that the lack of appropriate spaces to host events makes it difficult to organize and promote end-of-year parties in the capital city.
Another event promoter who also expressed concern about the same situation was Marcial Vieira, who pointed out the license fee charged by the administration, which is around 25 and 30 thousand kwanzas, as high, due to the little revenue that is obtained. at promoted parties.
Igor António, also an event organizer, requested a more pedagogical approach from the National Police personnel, whose action must be based on the law, because sometimes they arrive and take the devices without first maintaining prior contact with the owner.
On the other hand, the municipal commander of the National Police in Cuanhama, superintendent Danilson Baptista, appealed to prosecutors to collaborate with the authorities and avoid unpleasant situations during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
He recalled that they must be guided by the organization, from licenses and legalization of spaces, as well as encouraging them to report acts that violate public order and tranquility.
For her part, the deputy municipal administrator for the Economic and Financial Area of Cuanhama, Laime Aníbal, said that the meeting aimed to review organizational issues that promote more harmony during the festive season.
He mentioned that, in recent years, many complaints about noise pollution during rest hours in Ondjiva neighborhoods have been reported with great concern, which must be corrected.
Laime Aníbal urged culture makers to renew documents as urgently as possible, as well as guiding the municipal directorate of Tourism and Culture of Cuanhama, to speed up the delivery of processes.
Currently, the municipal office of Tourism and Culture of Cuanhama controls nine cultural agents and event promoters.
The municipality of Cuanhama has 360 thousand and 491 inhabitants, of which 113 thousand and 280 live in 26 neighborhoods in the city of Ondjiva, the rest in the municipalities of Môngua, Evale, Oshimolo and Nehone.
