Goalkeeper Landu Mavango, formerly of AS Vita Club de Kinshansa in DR Congo, Petro de Luanda’s opponent in the 2nd round (group A) of the League of Champions Clubs, said in Luena, that the oil companies “have everything ” to defeat the Congolese, especially for playing without an audience in the neighboring Republic of Congo.
Playing at Bravos do Maquis this season, Landu represented for two seasons (2020/21 and 2021/22) the emblem of the DRC (AS Vita Club) that will star in the unprecedented duel against Petro de Luanda.
The goalkeeper recognized the qualities of the Angolan champion, embodied in the quick transitions on the flanks, competitive players, which gives cohesion to the team, despite the efficient attack.
However, he warned of the need for Petro to defend aggressively and launch quick counterattacks to surprise Vita Club, an effective formation in the midfield.
He informed that the intermediate sector of the Vita Club is very fast and that it gives vitality to the attack line, which is also very efficient.
“Both Petro and AS Vita Club are two great teams that are going through good times in their championships and are the leaders in their championships”, he recalled, referring to the internal competitions, with Petro leading Girabola2022/23 (with 38 points, in 18 games played), while Vita Clube also leads, in its country (31 pts), in 11 matches played.
