Africa-Press – Angola. The national exam for access to law, for the year 2023, will be held simultaneously across the country, on April 28, announced the Angolan Bar Association (OAA).

The institution recalls, in a statement, that taking the national examination for access to law is a condition for exercising the profession in Angola, and follows the approval, in March 2019, of a regulation on the matter.

By virtue of the aforementioned regulation, the national examination for access to law is convened once in each calendar year, by the President of the Angolan Bar Association, and is carried out simultaneously throughout the national territory, during the month of April.

The national exam for access to law is scientifically and pedagogically coordinated by the Center for Studies and Training of the Angolan Bar Association, the document said.

Registration starts next Wednesday

OAA advances that registration for the 2023 exam begins next Wednesday (1) and ends on March 31.

“Only national citizens with a degree in Law can enroll”, making an exception for foreigners with a degree from Angolan universities, provided that, in their countries, Angolans enjoy, under equal circumstances, the same right.

Reminds that graduates interested in joining the profession of law in Angola must be in full enjoyment of their civil rights and must not be covered by any of the incompatibilities provided for in the Constitution of the Republic of Angola, in the law and other regulations governing the practice of law in the country.

For registration purposes, candidates must present color copies of the Identity Card or equivalent document and the diploma, certificate or declaration of the end of the course, as well as pay the registration fee in the electronic payment channels, through the reference generated at the time of registration.

For the registration process, the presentation of complaints, access to the respective admission lists and the results of the national exam for access to law, the Angolan Bar Association has at its disposal the websites of the national exam for access to law (www .enoaa.org).

Still for the same purpose, the OAA also has at its disposal the Study and Training Center of the Angolan Bar Association (www.cef-oaa.org) and the Angolan Bar Association (www.oaang.org), owing the applicants have a valid email address for this purpose.

Under the model of access to law that was in force until 2019, the quality of candidates was only assessed in an 18-month internship, which was extended for an equal period, making a total of three years, during which period the trainee lawyer attended a course three-month aggregation period.

The entrance examination for advocacy is carried out in most countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).
