Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security (MAPTSS), Teresa Rodrigues Dias, assured that Huambo’s Integrated Technical-Vocational Training Center (CINFOTEC) will be the first in the country with high-quality equipment technology.
The minister, who was speaking to the press at the end of an approximately two-hour visit to the enterprise, in the company of the governor of Huambo province, Lotti Nolika, said that the installation of equipment at the center aims to train 1,472 students for each cycle.
He stated that this is a mega project that has already been completed and equipped, with just a few aesthetic and performance adjustments needed for better visualization, and is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024.
He added that, following the example of CINFOTEC in the municipalities of Talatona and Rangel, both in the province of Luanda, it is expected that the center of Huambo, with modern technological equipment that the country does not yet have, will absorb, above all, graduates in better performances in the job market.
The minister informed that the infrastructure is expected to operate, in the first phase, in two shifts, with 736 students each, with some teaching staff already trained and others in training, to respond to the handling of high-tech equipment.
He stressed that CINFOTEC-Huambo is open to young people from all over the country and for all ages, as long as they meet the requirements of the proposed entry profile, which, depending on their level, is more demanding.
Therefore, he reiterated the Angolan Executive’s commitment to training youth, for better preparation in the job market, taking into account the fact that some training is provided, in a deficient way, in centers that still do not respond to expectations.
In turn, the governor of Huambo province said it was a “great value” undertaking and could turn this region of the country’s Central Highlands into the Angolan capital of technical-professional training.
He highlighted the fact that graduates, after completing the courses, are ready for self-employment, without the need to apply for a job in public competitions.
The governor also announced the training of rural young people in the enterprise in the areas of assembling parts for motorbikes, cars and tractors, which is very necessary at a local level.
The infrastructure, whose construction began in February 2021, in a space of six thousand 531, 17 square meters, within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Angola and the People’s Republic of China, is the largest in the country, with an investment of over 30 million US dollars.
Belonging to MAPTSS, it has a capacity for 1,472 students in each training cycle, in the areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICTs), Electricity and Mechatronics, Metrology, Mechanics and Production.
The center will have capacity for 38 trainers, 35 administrative staff and 34 assistants. The building contains three blocks, two for laboratories and one for administration, 36 workshops, an engine room and a multi-purpose field.
