Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Economy, Ivan dos Santos, stated this Monday, in Luanda, that the Executive maintains the challenge of producing national products “on a large scale” given the current context.
According to the person responsible, who was speaking to the press on the sidelines of the meeting with managers of large commercial areas, there is already a lot of national production, but it needs to be “on a large scale” to better supply the domestic market.
Without giving any numbers, he says that a good part of national consumption is currently produced locally, that is, “Made in Angola.
“Only with the valorization and resizing of national production can positive results be achieved at all levels”, defended Ivan dos Santos when referring to the rise in product prices on the market.
Regarding the rise in prices of some products, he said it represents another exercise to be carried out by the Executive, but points to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for the paradigm shift.
In his opinion, alignment with large commercial areas is also necessary for this process to be successful.
The meeting with managers of large commercial areas served to better align assumptions for meeting current challenges, as well as the need for better dissemination of “Made in Angola” products.
During the meeting, company managers, commercial areas, presented concerns such as guarantees of local production, proximity to national producers, purchasing and sales procedures.
At this meeting it became clear that, from January 2024, companies will be able to have access to 30% of national products.
Officials from INAPEM, representatives from Shoprite, Kero, Candando, Angolaissar, among others, participated in the meeting.
Companies adhere to “Made in Angola”
Data from the National Institute of Support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM) reveal the registration of 842 products, across the country, of which 627 already bear the “Made in Angola” seal, with the participation of 152 companies.
The forecast is to cover 500 companies and a thousand products by December of this year.
The meeting, promoted by INAPEM, was held within the scope of access to public purchasing, within the framework of boosting measures to stimulate the economy.
