Africa-Press – Angola. Directed self-construction, with the construction of infrastructured lots for housing and proximity services, is being made possible by the Ministry of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, to promote land management through the implementation of territorial planning instruments.
According to the Secretary of State for Urbanism and Housing, Manuel da Costa Canguezeze, the aforementioned project, to be carried out in the period 2023-2027, is based on the Land Regulation of existing Settlements, through urban regeneration.
When opening the seminar on the “Future of Land Management in Angola”, the person in charge acknowledged that the project will require the Angolan Geographic and Cadastral Institute (IGCA) political measures for land management, based on the national cadastral system, to greater control of the land.
“The Executive intends to create methods, with a view to attracting and fixing affordable land prices, taking into account the objective of defining criteria so that construction is carried out at moderate prices, with a view to facilitating people’s access to housing”, mentioned.
Manuel Canguezeze also mentioned, as a goal of the project, the creation of fair and transparent rules for citizens, as well as simplification of procedures.
As he said, within the scope of the Simplifica project, the aim is to re-evaluate issues of land governance in Angola, analyze sustainable urban development and how the promise of shared prosperity can be maintained, in a growing context.
On the occasion, he reiterated the Executive’s commitment to promoting land management policies.
During the activity, an ongoing program for the Implementation of the Integrated Land Registry System was presented, which is being prepared by IGCA and Geodata, a subsidiary company of the Mitrelli group, specialized in geo-spatial analysis and information.
According to Ana Pires, from the company Geodata, they are currently training technicians and registering nationally.
The seminar on the “Future of Land Management in Angola” was promoted by Geodata and IGCA.
