Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the MPLA, João Lourenço, reaffirmed this Friday, in Luanda, the Angolan Executive’s commitment to the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure essential for the country’s development.

The President of the Republic also said that it is an ambitious program that includes port, airport, road, communications and space infrastructures, hydroelectric plants and photovoltaic parks.

Speaking at the opening of the VI ordinary meeting of the MPLA Central Committee, João Lourenço also highlighted the construction of canals and dams for water storage, oil refineries, hospital, school, sports, cultural and housing units, among others.

He stated that the construction of the Caculo Cabaça hydroelectric dam and the Bita and Quilonga projects to supply water to Luanda are also underway or scheduled, which will benefit more than 12 million inhabitants.

Among his achievements, he added water storage projects such as Cova do Leão, Ndue, Curoca and Calucuve, in Cunene, and Curunjamba, Giraul, Inamangando, Bero and Bentiaba, in Namibe.
