Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministries of Transport and Planning joined forces to hold a seminar in Huambo last Friday to present the potential and investment opportunities along the Lobito Corridor. The event, held at the Manuel Rui Monteiro Cultural Centre, aimed to present the project for the Railway Branch and Goods Terminal of the Logistics Platform of the municipality of Caála, which was attended by local businesspeople working in the sectors of Agriculture, Livestock, Transport, Civil Construction, among others.
During the event, the contract manager of the Caála Logistics Platform, Adriana Penha, said that the meeting made it possible to seek contributions that aim to boost the projects to be implemented in the Logistics Platform and along the Lobito Corridor.Adriana Penha also explained that the Workshop involved the largest number of people who contributed to the discussions raised about the development of the project for the Caála Logistics Platform Railway Branch and Goods Terminal, along the Lobito Corridor.
The official stressed that, during the meeting, entrepreneurs and businessmen from the Central Plateau region were informed about the general objectives of the Caála Logistics Platform, which could bring benefits, depending on the economic impact it will have on the province of Huambo.
The manager considered that Huambo is the “Granhill of Angola”, which is why it is important to value this logistics infrastructure so that, in the near future, it will favor the marketing of products to be transported along the Lobito Corridor.

Farmer Domingos Capitango sees the Caála Logistics Platform as a great opportunity to expand his cultivation area, taking into account the level of demand for local production that will be seen in the near future.
